Heritage Alumna Sworn in as Ghana Union of Professional Students (GUPS) Financial Controller.

Theresah Kwakyewah Baidoo has been sworn in as the Financial Controller of the Ghana Union of Professional Students (GUPS) at the union’s General Assembly held at Heritage Christian University on 7th February, 2026, securing a seat on the nine-member National Secretariat that leads student representation across all 127 professional universities in Ghana.

Baidoo, a Heritage Christian University alumna and former SRC President (2024/2025), becomes the first Heritage representative to hold a national executive position in GUPS. Her appointment places her at the helm of financial oversight for Ghana’s largest professional student body.

As Financial Controller, Baidoo will manage the union’s budget, oversee resource allocation to member institutions, and ensure transparent financial operations across GUPS’s national and regional structures.

Her leadership journey began at Heritage Christian University, where she served as SRC President during the 2024/2025 academic year, championing student welfare initiatives and strengthening campus-community partnerships, becoming the first female to lead the students’ body in the process. She also served as a member of the Governing Council of Heritage Christian University during her tenure as the SRC President.

GUPS coordinates advocacy, professional development, and policy engagement for students in specialized tertiary institutions including nursing, technical, agricultural, and health training universities across Ghana.
