SHS Career Mentorship Programme 2025

The 2025 November edition of the Heritage SHS Career Mentorship Programme has wrapped up at the campus of Heritage Christian University, leaving its two-week participants energized, skilled, and inspired for the future. Designed to equip fresh senior high school graduates with practical skills, the programme delivered hands-on training in graphic design, web design, entrepreneurship, and journalism & media; four of today’s most in-demand skill areas.

Beyond technical training, participants also benefited from career guidance, mentorship sessions, public speaking coaching, Microsoft Office Suite, financial literacy workshop and design thinking. A combination of hard and soft skills engineered to sharpen their professional readiness.

Message from Guest Speaker

During the graduation ceremony on the final day, guest speaker Mr. Alfred Ocansey, renowned TV3 journalist and host of the highly acclaimed current affairs programme “Ghana Tonight”, delivered an inspiring charge. Mr. Ocansey emphasized the increasing importance of soft skills, praising Heritage Christian University for championing an initiative that blends technical competence with communication, confidence and creativity.

He challenged the graduates who had travelled from across the country to apply their new skills diligently through a six-month personal growth challenge, urging them to transform learning into tangible progress leveraging on AI and technology. Mr. Ocansey opened up the avenue to interested participants to intern with TV3 to build their skills. He also assured mentees in the media and journalism class of a visit to Media General.
