The President of the 7th Student Representative Council (SRC) of Heritage Christian University, Her Excellency Theresah Kwakyewah Baidoo, has delivered her final State of the SRC Address to the 4th Parliamentary Council, highlighting an impressive tenure marked by advocacy, unity, and people-centered student leadership.

Transformational Student Leadership

In a heartfelt address, President Baidoo recounted the achievements of her administration since assuming office on May 10, 2024. She noted that the SRC had prioritized student welfare, institutional visibility, and academic support through bold initiatives and strategic partnerships.

“We committed ourselves to a leadership agenda centered on advocacy, institutional visibility, student welfare, and academic support. Through strategic partnerships, bold initiatives, and relentless perseverance, we have enhanced the student experience,” she said.

Notable Achievements of the SRC

She highlighted several notable achievements during the SRC’s tenure, including:

  • Championing the cause of students with courage and consistency
  • ⁠Initiating the SRC Food Bank to support students with breakfast and provisions
  • ⁠Organising Sports programs in collaboration with other universities
  • ⁠Organising programs for ladies such as Breast Cancer Awareness program
  • Providing regular weekly updates to inform the student body
  • Mobilizing resources to support diverse student activities
  • Building strong relationships with students and fostering unity
  • Bridging the gap between students and university management
  • Supporting the university’s admissions drive and promotional activities
  • Representing the university at external fora with excellence
  • Revising the SRC Constitution to strengthen governance
  • Rallying students to participate actively in university programs
  • Promoting the university’s image across various platforms
  • Supporting students facing academic and financial challenges
  • Avoiding scandalous actions and upholding integrity
  • Organizing one of the most spectacular SRC Week celebrations in the university’s history

Collaboration in Leadership

President Baidoo emphasized the importance of collaborative leadership, noting that the administration’s success was the result of the collective efforts of the executive council, parliamentary representatives, faculty advisors, and the student body.

“Leadership is never a solitary pursuit—it is a collaborative effort. The milestones we have reached are a testament to the unwavering commitment of all who served with me,” she added.

The SRC President also expressed deep appreciation to the Dean of Students, Prof. Ebenezer Ayesu, for his unwavering support and guidance throughout the SRC’s tenure.
