Welcome to the School of Nursing and Midwifery
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the School of Nursing and Midwifery, which is one of the constituent Schools of the Heritage Christian University (HCU). HCU stands out in the higher education landscape for its unique approach to nurturing students who do not only excel academically but are also primed to meet the demands of the international market. Our holistic education model is designed to transform students intellectually, morally, and emotionally, equipping them with the skills and values needed to thrive in the job market or to embark on entrepreneurial ventures.
Thus HCU remains one of the leading avenues for the promotion of Nursing and Midwifery education. Coupled with this mandate of fostering Nursing and Midwifery education is the focus on the development of competent practical based and research-oriented nurses and midwives for the overall advancement of the noble professions of Nursing and Midwifery.
Currently the School offers two (2) Bachelor’s degrees namely Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Midwifery in the two (2) departments of Nursing and Midwifery. These degrees are offered through the regular programme, sandwich and diploma-to-degree (top-up) programs. We work together in a culture of scholarly inquiry that cultivates conviction, character, creativity, compassion and community which are the core values of HCU.
HCU is currently linked to the following institutions HCC-USA Foundation, located in the USA, and foreign universities (Abilene Christian University, Harding University, Lipscomb University for knowledge sharing among faculty.
It is always a prerogative to admit new students, who eventually become tremendous assets to the professions, or to collaborate with relevant stakeholders and partners, or simply do what we do best which is to create a congenial and well-structured environment for the teaching and learning of Nursing and Midwifery. So, our doors are always open to individuals who are interested in nursing and midwifery education at the bachelors level.
Thank you.
