Stephen Benson – Chartered Accountant & Financial Strategist
Stephen Benson is a Chartered Accountant (ICAG) with extensive financial management, corporate strategy, taxation, internal controls, and regulatory compliance expertise. With over a decade of experience, he has successfully led financial operations, strategic planning, and risk assessment for various organizations.
He currently serves as the Financial Controller at Vaal Real Estate Ghana Ltd., providing financial leadership, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, overseeing internal controls, and managing financial reporting. Prior to this, he worked at Consar Limited, first as an Assistant Accountant, then as a Senior Accountant, and later completed his National Service at the company. He was responsible for financial statement preparation, tax filings, internal audits, and financial strategy development.
Stephen also served as the Finance Manager at Pimcel Microfinance Company Ltd., leading budget forecasting, cash flow management, financial reporting, and payroll administration. Earlier in his career, he was a Tutor at Modern College of Science & Technology, teaching Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Economics, and Business Management, while contributing to examination and sports committees.
Currently, he is also a Teaching Assistant in Corporate Reporting at the Centre for Professional Studies (HCU), assisting students in preparing for the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) professional exams through structured tutorials, revision sessions, and exam preparation. Additionally, he worked as a Finance & Tax Manager (Freelance) at Aurora C M Group Ltd., handling tax compliance, payroll management, and internal control assessments.
