Heritage Christian University has held its 7th Graduation ceremony under the theme “Marvelous What God Has Done: Created to Create.” The theme reflects on the University’s journey since its establishment in 2015, marking its 10th anniversary celebration. The theme also calls on the over 150 graduates of the Class of 2025, comprising both master’s and bachelor’s degree earners to fully assume their natural responsibility to be creative and innovative as they step into the world of work.

Championing Core Values Beyond Campus
Speaking at the ceremony, the President of the University, Dr. Samuel Twumasi-Ankrah, urged the graduates to uphold the core values of Conviction, Character, Creativity, Compassion, and Community of the University that have been instilled in them to serve as their anchor for success in their journeys outside the walls of the University. He also encouraged the graduates not to wait for a perfect time to act, to engage in the acts of volunteerism, and to appreciate small and humble beginnings, drawing lessons from the journey of Heritage Christian University, which began with faith a decade ago.

Creating Jobs, Not Waiting for Them
Guest Speaker and former Member of Parliament for Bia West, Dr. Augustine Tawiah, emphasized the need for a holistic and faith-based education like what is offered by HCU. Dr. Tawiah also commended the University for its commitment to instilling entrepreneurial principles and providing startup capital to support students’ ideas, with the aim of churning out well-equipped, business-oriented persons as a way of contributing to the reduction of the unemployment rate in Ghana. He highlighted the importance of equipping students with startup capital and business mentorship, transforming academic ideas into real-world ventures. Not by waiting for jobs, but by creating them. He called on the graduates to carry this spirit into their careers, whether in business, public service, education, or ministry, and to “lift high the flag of Heritage” wherever they go.

GHS 200,000 in Startup Funding Awarded to Student Founders
As evidence and a show of the university’s commitment to empowering its students and graduates with entrepreneurial support, the university, through its annual startup challenge under the auspices of the Center for Entrepreneurship, Philanthropy, and Ethics, awarded three teams a startup capital of GHS 200,000.00 to kickstart their businesses.
- Golden Bite (Bakery) – GHS 100,000.00
- Ninson’s Couture (Clothing and fashion) – GHS 60,000.00
- Team One Place (Digital marketplace) – GHS 40,000.00
These teams prevailed through the year-long entrepreneurial contest with viable, sustainable, and scalable business ideas.

Graduates Join Growing Global Alumni Network
The ceremony affirms HCU’s mission to cultivate graduates who are equipped intellectually, spiritually, and socially, and prepared to make significant contributions in various sectors while upholding Christian values. The Class of 2025 now joins a network of over 500 alumni spread across industries and nations. Many are already launching startups, serving in NGOs, or pursuing further studies abroad.
