Heritage Bible Institute Hosts Christ-Centered Leadership Seminar in Swedru

Alexander Maxwell Yawson speaking at Church leadership development seminar

In a collaborative effort to strengthen church leadership across the Central Region, Heritage Bible Institute (HBI) and the Church of Christ at Swedru Mandela hosted a one-day Leadership Seminar under the theme “Christ-Centered Leadership.”

Seminar Theme and Purpose

Focused on “Christ-Centered Leadership,” the seminar urged church leaders to model their leadership after Christ. The event aimed to inspire, equip, and build local leaders for more effective ministry.

Participation and Representation

Over 100 participants attended, including Elders, Deacons, Preachers, Women Leaders, and Business Committee Members. Representing eight Churches of Christ from Swedru and nearby towns, the turnout highlighted strong regional interest in leadership growth.

Key Presentations

The seminar featured two powerful sessions:

  • Mr. Isaac Demond Donkoh, HBI Instructor, spoke on “Exploring Christ-Centered Leadership,” urging leaders to reflect Christ in every aspect of service.
  • Mr. Alexander Maxwell Yawson, HBI Director, addressed “Leadership Decisions Determine the Destiny of the Church,” stressing how critical choices shape a church’s growth and spiritual health.

Outcomes and Future Plans

The seminar’s positive reception led the Elders of the Swedru Church of Christ to propose making it an annual, church-sponsored event. This proposal was embraced as a step toward sustainable leadership development within the Churches of Christ in the region.

Feedback and Impact

Attendees described the seminar as timely, insightful, and spiritually enriching, underscoring its relevance to current leadership challenges in the church.
