Overview
The rationale of this program is to offer a course that is complimentary to the BSc I.T curriculum. However, it does not prepare the student for in-depth systems analysis, design & implementation nor does it prepare the student to work in network management (both are the aim of the BSc I.T curriculum of HCU). The aim of this course is to prepare business majors to work with BSc I.T departments or inside BSc I.T departments but in different areas. In either context they will be prepared to help with business requirements, process issues, and change issue management. They will understand the language of analysis, design & implementation. They will be able to work with project management and be part of a Project management Office (PMO). They could and often interface between BSc I.T and business units to improve the probability of systems meeting business need in a timely manner. They can be good candidates on BSc I.T Audit teams as they provide the core competence of BSc I.T management in audit teams that are often weak in BSc I.T skills, nomenclature and implications. Consequently, the courses focus on management, analysis, design, security, project management, decision support, enterprise architecture and e-commerce with the aim of enabling students to help in specifications, business process specification and testing, audit, etc. All graduates of HCU are also expected to understand how to help their communities. The program provides several courses that help with students learn the values that should drive their actions and they have via the community development courses tools that will help them begin to contribute.
