BBA Human Resource

Overview

The rationale of this program is to offer a course that prepares business majors at a bachelor degree level who intend to pursue careers in Human Resource Management, Relationship Management or who intend to pursue professional status and / or progress their studies towards Masters and PhD degrees. We strategically have selected both public and private sector and entrepreneurial business as the target hiring firms. In either context they will be prepared to help with Human Resource requirements, management and have necessary background to begin to work in personnel issues. This course provides the student an opportunity to explore contemporary issues in HR. The professor will select topics and will also solicit topics from students when they register and also in the initial class sessions for future development. A preference for Case Studies and dialog and debate should be the teaching vehicles. Students should prepare discussion outlines (briefs) to present and will take a position in a debate to be conducted in class which will be followed by dialog. The Core Value issues of HCU and a Christian Worldview should both be highlighted in all discussions so the student practice working from these frameworks. All business graduates of HCU are expected to also be technology literate, know how to apply and manage technology and work with IT professionals in varied organisations. All graduates of HCU are also expected to understand how to help their communities. The program provides several courses that help with students learn the values that should drive their actions.
