PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
The MSc. in Public Financial Management is a one-year graduate programme designed to develop ethical, innovative public management professionals with advanced expertise, skills, and competencies in budgeting, revenue and expenditure management, financial reporting and accounting, auditing, and reforms in public sector institutions.

MASTER OF SCIENCE IN PUBLIC FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
- Demonstrate advanced competence in the preparation, management, and evaluation of public sector budgets, in line with applicable public financial management laws, fiscal policies, and regulatory frameworks.
- Apply contemporary public financial management systems, tools, and reforms to enhance fiscal discipline, transparency. efficiency, and value for money in public institutions.
- Critically analyse public sector revenues, expenditures, and financial reports to support evidence-based fiscal decision-making and effective resource allocation.
- Design, implement, and evaluate internal control, audit, and public procurement systems to ensure compliance, accountability, and the prevention of financial mismanagement.
- Use research and analytical methods to address complex public sector challenges and support evidence-based decision-making.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- A good first degree (First Class to Second Class Lower).
- Applicants holding a first degree below Second Class Lower with a minimum of two years industry experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Recognised professional qualifications such as CIHRM, ICAG, ACCA, CIMA, CIM, ICSA, CIAMC, or their equivalent.
