Students worshiping during TSC 2025 at Heritage Christian University

Hundreds of young adults from 25 institutions across Ghana gathered at Heritage Christian University from April 17 to 21, 2025, for the annual Tertiary Students’ Conference (TSC 2025), themed “Young Adult Christians: Conforming or Transforming?”, drawn from Romans 12:1–2.

Transforming, not Conforming

The conference aimed to stir a renewed passion among Christian youth to live transformed lives in a world that constantly pressures them to conform. With daily worship, spirit-led devotionals, deep lectures, and lively interactive sessions, participants were challenged to reflect on their spiritual walk, personal choices, and worldview.

Topics and Speakers

Key topics addressed throughout the conference included:

  • God’s Mercy Enables Transformation – led by Dr. Frank Obeng Essien, Minister of the Church of Christ, University of Cape Coast and Lecturer at Heritage Christian University.
  • Conforming or Transforming in Morality – Dr. Samuel Twumasi-Ankrah(Founding President of Heritage Christian University and a Shepherd at the Nsawam Road Church of Christ, Accra)
  • The Pattern of This World: Materialism and the Christian– Dr. Monte Cox (Dean of College of Bible and Ministry, Harding University, USA)
  • Renewing the Christian Mind– Prof. Kwadwo Appiagyei-Atua ( Associate Professor, School of Law, University of Ghana and a Patron of University of Ghana Church of Christ)
  • Discerning God’s Good, Pleasing, and Perfect Will – Dr. Augustine Tawiah ( Former Member of Parliament of Bia West; Founder of Bia Lamplighter College of Education)
  • A Call to Action: Transforming, Not Conforming– Harrison Obeng Debrah (Dean of Students, Ghana Bible College, Kumasi and Minister, Church of Christ, Asafo-Kumasi) Campus Leaders’ Sessions: Shaping Worldview and Leadership
Throughout the conference, special leadership tracks for campus leaders were held. Dr. Monte Cox facilitated a series of deep worldview sessions that explored the fleeting nature of life, the tension between individualism and community, and the Christian call to fix our eyes on the eternal. These sessions challenged young leaders to rethink their mission and role as agents of spiritual influence on campus and in society. Invigorating Worship, Deep Fellowship, and Immersive Social Activities
From the opening night’s thunderous singing to the symbolic moment where students raised their phone lights as beacons in a dark world, worship was electrifying and heartfelt. These moments inspired commitment and reminded participants of their calling to be lights wherever they go.

Recreational activities such as football, volleyball, oware, draft, ludu, ampe, and other traditional games created a warm environment for bonding and relaxation. Entertainment and performance activities like Pick and Act, Skits and Bible memorization drills, led by Isaac Newton Omedu-Baba—also known as the “Walking Bible” for memorizing 17 New Testament books—added a memorable twist to the event.

Honoring Excellence in Campus Ministry

Dr. Augustine Tawiah was honoured for his exceptional role in campus ministry across Ghana, bringing together campus leaders to discuss how to enrich the campus ministries and plan for the future.

A Life-altering Experience

TSC 2025 was more than a conference—it was a life-altering experience that stirred the hearts of young Christians to pursue God wholeheartedly. The legacy of this gathering continues as participants return to their campuses and communities—transformed, equipped, and ready to reflect Christ in every sphere of life.
