PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
The MSc. in Accounting and Finance is a one-year graduate programme Designed to develop advanced, industry-relevant graduates for strategic, analytical, and leadership roles in financial management, corporate governance, auditing, and investment analysis.
The programme combines rigorous academic study with applied learning, equipping graduates with the technical depth, critical thinking skills, and professional competence required to excel in both the private and public sectors.
The programme also provides a robust foundation for professional certification with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation Ghana (CITG)
LEARNING OUTCOMES AND COMPETENCIES FOR
Master of Science IN ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE
- Apply theoretical and conceptual tools to solve complex, real-world accounting and finance problems.
- Apply analytical, numerical, and planning skills to solve complex, real-world accounting and finance problems.
- Produce written reports and deliver verbal presentations grounded in financial data and regulatory analysis.
- Conduct independent and collaborative research in accounting and finance to inform evidence-based decision-making.
- Evaluate financial policies, investment strategies, and governance frameworks to support sound organisational and institutional performance.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- A good first degree (First Class to Second Class Lower).
- Applicants holding a first degree below Second Class Lower with a minimum of two years industry experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Recognised professional qualifications such as CIHRM, ACCA, ICAG, CIMA, CIM, ICSA, CIAMC, or their equivalent.
