Donation Announced During SRC Week Awards Night
Hon. John Desmond Sowah Nai, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Ga West Municipal Assembly, has donated five streetlights and GHS 10,000.00 to the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of Heritage Christian University, providing a timely boost to both campus safety and the university’s annual SRC Week celebrations.
Streetlights to Improve Campus Safety
The donation was announced during the SRC Week Awards Night, where the MCE’s representative formally presented the items on his behalf. The streetlights will be installed across key areas of the campus to improve visibility and security, particularly during evening activities, while the cash contribution helped finance the week-long programme of events.
In a statement, the SRC described the gesture as “a strong demonstration of leadership, commitment to youth development, and dedication to improving educational environments.” The council added that the support highlights the importance of collaboration between local governance and student leadership in driving positive change.

Partnership Facilitated by YEA Director & SRC External Affairs Secretary
The partnership was facilitated by Hon. George Asare, Director of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) for the Ga West Municipal Assembly, and coordinated internally by the SRC External Affairs Secretary, Mr. Solomon Adjei Junior.
SRC Pledges Proper Utilisation of Resources
The SRC has pledged to ensure that all donated resources are properly utilised for the benefit of the entire student body, and extended heartfelt gratitude to the MCE for his continued generosity.
